make sense of German articles, whenever you can
The idea
darum is a small, focused app for one of the most frustrating corners of German: knowing whether a word is der, die or das. No grand promises, no thousand features — just a calm place to drill articles until they feel natural.
The name is a little joke every German learner will get. Ask warum a word takes der, die or das, and the truthful answer is often just… darum — "because." The app makes peace with that: it teaches the real patterns where they exist, and helps you simply remember the rest.
What it does
Practice der / die / das across ~4,000 words, from A1 all the way to C1.
The words you keep getting wrong come back until they finally stick.
Real grammar tips — what's a rule, what's just a trend, and what you simply have to learn.
See your progress and accuracy grow, one article at a time.
Who's behind it
I'm a mom on maternity leave who started learning to build apps — and decided to make something real with it.
German articles are the part of the language almost everyone struggles with. There's no perfect rule, just years of quietly guessing. I wanted to make that part a little kinder, so darum is my attempt to help fellow German learners with the biggest headache of all.
I'm always happy to hear feedback, and open to collaboration — whether you're a learner, a teacher, or just have ideas. Don't be shy.
