These terms govern your use of darum ("the App"), a mobile application for learning German noun articles, operated by Iryna Garbuz (Senefelderstr 29a, 10437 Berlin, Germany; derdiedarum@gmail.com). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these terms.
1. The service
darum is a free educational app that helps you practise German articles (der, die, das) through quizzes, error training, grammar tips, and progress statistics. The App is provided for personal, non-commercial learning use.
2. No account required
You do not need to create an account to use the App. Your progress and settings are stored locally on your device.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the App. In particular, you agree not to:
- Copy, modify, distribute, or resell the App or its content without permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or interfere with the App's functioning
- Use the App in any way that breaks applicable law
4. Educational content
The App's grammar tips, rules, and word data are provided for learning purposes and are offered in good faith. Language is nuanced and exceptions exist; the content may contain errors or simplifications and is not a substitute for professional language instruction. You use the educational content at your own discretion.
5. Intellectual property
The App, its design, logo, text, and original content are owned by the operator and protected by copyright. You are granted a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App for your own learning.
6. Availability and changes
The App is offered "as is" and "as available". I may update, change, or discontinue the App or any of its features at any time without notice. During testing phases, the App may be unstable, contain bugs, or become temporarily unavailable.
7. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these terms limits liability for intent, gross negligence, or injury to life, body, or health, or any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory German law.
8. Third-party services
If you consent to anonymous analytics, the App uses PostHog (EU-hosted). The App is distributed via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, whose own terms also apply. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
9. Changes to these terms
I may revise these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date reflects the most recent version. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the revised terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protection provisions of your country of residence remain unaffected.
